Goodreads reader reviews for The Hunted (available exclusively on )

"Wow what a beginning!! Book 2 starts off exactly were book 1 ended. Which I might add that I was a little disappointed that it ended right when we were getting to the good stuff. But never the less this book starts just right. As the story progresses Issy is still locked on not having a committed relationship, and Lucas is on a mission to change that. The couple comes to an arrangement that allows them to test the relationship waters. One question I hope that's answered in book 3 is why is Issy so strongly against relationships? There's a brief mention about someone in her past, but no clue as to who and what happen. Can't wait for the release of the next book." 5/5 Clarisse.

"I definitely enjoyed Part two better than the first! A lot of heat! I can't wait to see what is going to happen during that month." 5/5 Diana.

Spoiler alert!!!
"This part two of the Hunter. Mr Hunter commissions Izzy to do some work on a building he has. Izzy does not want to loose the contract and has a one night stand with him. But she gets more than she bargained for as he wants more and he does not date/she does not do relationships. There a deal struck between them and he sends her a cheque. Izzy returns the cheque to his business and runs away. Izzy falls down the stairs and gets concussion and he makes her stay at his apartment. I another deal is struck in which he challenges her to stay with for a month or he pursers her until she agrees to see him again. Izzy does not want to loose the contract and does not know which way to go.
Izzy find that Hunter has been celibate for years and has a dark past

Great story just too short again. Very FSG" Kathryn.

The Hunted Orion the Hunter Part Two edition by J D Chase Contemporary Romance eBooks

It was always nothing more than a one night stand for Issy. The first book of this trilogy The Hunter (Orion the Hunter Part One)dealt mainly with Issy and her desire to bed Lucas. It ends with them both going to her apartment to consumate their mutual desires...and Issy moving on afterwards. This story begins where the last story left us...however Lucas is now the hunter who cannot let Issy go now that he's had her.

Issy wanted Lucas so badly that at first I thought the story would be solely about her chasing Lucas (I dislike stories where the girl chases the boy). But that is SO not the case!

Issy is true to form....."love 'em and leave 'em" attitude She has no problem with working with Lucas (redesigning his new builiding) even though they've been intimate. She's truely gotten him out of her system. But Lucas is just getting started. He's not about to let Issy go! He wants to pursue a a personal relationship. She doesn't. Yet he cannot forget her...try as he might. She's reduced this strong, confident, powerful Alpha Male into a deflated, crushed, groveling mess. He was once ruthless, arrogant and controlling...but no more. And now Issy becomes determinied to change and correct the mess she's made of him.

The more Lucas gets to know Issy, the more he realizes her damage. He finds it ironic that the one woman he breaks all his rules for and allows into his life, doesn't want anything to do with him on a long term relationship. No matter. He wants her!!!

I absolutely loved this second installment of this trilogy. I adore Lucas and his persistent, commanding persona. He doesn't like the position that Issy has him in yet he relentlessly persues her nonetheless.

It should be noted that this book does not stand alone. That is, you must read the first installment of this trilogy to understand the issues that take place in this installment. But don't worry..the first book is only 6 short chapters. I finished it in less than 2 hours.

I'm off to read the third and final installment of this story. Brava and Encore Ms. Chase.

The Hunted Orion the Hunter Part Two edition by J D Chase Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I really enjoyed the first book, and the second here did not disappoint. Really enjoyed the growth of the main charecters and how the tables turnedon them both. Can't wait for book 3 to watch the 'month probation' of their relationship pan out.
I'm going with two stars here, because I didn't HATE this book, I just didn't like it very much. Can't seem to care enough to buy any further volumes, either. Even after not one, but TWO books, I have absolutely no idea who these people are that she's writing about, there is ZERO character development, here. Issy seems to be a slut with one friend, and then her friend's boyfriend's bandmates. She's had everything handed to her by this friends rich family-including her apartment and her job. I know nothing else about this woman, except her name is Isobel, but she goes by Issy-yuk. I have a problem with "instant love" in my romance books. Instant lust-fine, but the fact that this semi-recluse has been celibate for two years and falls instantly in soul-consuming love with a girl with just one bump in the hallway is laughable, and his actions after that are just stalkerish and creepy. The fact that Issy has sex with him the second time she sees him and WITHOUT a condom is just disgusting. I don't have a huge problem with writers from the UK, if they would just not try to stories from an American POV, of course, maybe these people are just living in New York and actually ARE from the UK, I wouldn't know because the Author hasn't shared that with me yet. I know the Author is from the UK because of several things 1. the word "whilst". This is a pretty pretentious British word that you will never hear an American even think let alone speak. 2. Naming the band "Bolloxed" and then changing it to something else because it's naughty or something. Again, "Bollock" is a British word-you wouldn't have to change the name of the band to anything else, because 99.9% of the American public wouldn't know that it's actually British slang for testicles, and if they did know that, they wouldn't care. There is also the use of "bloody" in some of the dialog, which just screams "British" to me, not common at all in American slang. I can't imagine wanting to read more of this crap. It seems like the author has pulled a lot of scenes from some of her favorite books and just thrown them together to make her own story. I know I've seen that "Meet Cute" in another book...yep, straight out of "Crossfire".
I loved this book maybe even a tad better than the first one. Again Lucas is a hot, hot, hot alpha male. I am less taken with Issy but she seems to be starting to come into her own in this book and a little less immature. Very hot reading, lots of sex and sass. A definite must read!
The Hunted starts off exactly where The Hunter had abruptly ended. It was heart wrenching watching the desperation that Lucas felt and funny watching Issy agree to the "Month Trial". Right...it's predictable where the story will go, but that doesn't bother me as I know that it does some. For me it's the story in between. We learned a little about Lucas and his history, but have learned of nothing more of Issy. Some hot sex, and the promise of some BDSM action in the future.

A good installation, which I have now learned is actually a series and not just a 2 part book. As I said in my review of The Hunter, I had suspected that these two books should have been combined instead of seperate, I was correct. And when the 3rd comes out, I suspect that I will think that all of them should have been combined into 1 book still.

My only other gripe is the editing. I came across sentences that made no sense and I would have to re-read them and realize that a wrong word was used, and would have to make up what I thought should have been there. And then there's Issy's last name...a dozen times it jumped from being Prince to Price. Which is it??

I was tempted to only give 3 stars because of the few things that bugged me, but because I like the story as a whole (and maybe in the future some editing, and combinations could happen?) I gave 4 stars.
